On the 16th of June 2002 in the Lutoslawski's Concert Hall of the Polish Radio in Warsaw took place the Prize-winners' Concert of the Kazimierz Serocki 8th International Composers' Competition.
In 2002 the subject of the Competition was a piece for orchestra - 85 scores were sent to the Office of the ISCM Polish Section.
The Jury (Zygmunt Krauze, Elliott Schwartz, Sukhi Kang, Dubravko Detoni and Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil) decided to give the following prizes:
The Main Prize of the Polish Society for Contemporary Music founded by the Polish Ministry of Culture (USD 5000,00) to Jose Luis Campana (France) for the composition "Yuly" for orchestra.
The Second Prize founded by The Mayor of the City of Warsaw (USD 3000,00) to Carlo A. Landini (Italy) for the composition "Time of target".
The Third Prize founded by The Culture Foundation (USD 1500,00) to Robert J. Bennett Jr for the composition "Pastiche" for baroque chamber orchestra.
The Fourth Prize founded by The Society of Authors ZAiKS (USD 1000,00) to Bartosz Kowalski Banasewicz (Poland) for the composition "Symfonia Okręgów" for orchestra
Zofia Serocka's Special Prize for the Youngest Winner (USD 1000,00) went to Bartosz Kowalski Banasewicz.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Zygmunt Krauze's Ensemble "Warsztat Muzyczny"(the performance of the "Swinging Music" by Kazimierz Serocki).
Afterwards, handing rewards to the winners, Polish Radio Orchestra under Jacek Rogala conducting has played awarded pieces.
